IK Multimedia Sampletank 2 X or L full verison special steps
Article Currently there is an issue with having MID files in the instrument folder of sampletank 2 full version, this does not apply to the SE version of sampletank that ships inside a vmachine . These MID files will cause the full version of sampletank 2 to lock up and/or reboot the V-Machine when rebuilding the cache of all the instruments.

The solution is very simple, you need to delete all files ending in ".MID" from anywhere in the instrument folder of sampletank. This only needs to be done to the files in the 'plugs' folder as well as any USB drives that you created before deleting the files from the "plugs" folder. To find the mid files so that they can be deleted use a search feature to find them.

MAC users.
Go to your "music" folder and right hand click the "vmachine library" and select "show package contents" in here you can see your 'plugs' folder.

With Windows this is done by...

  1. START>SEARCH (or maybe called find files and folders in your windows version)> then in the file name field type in "*.mid" as the asterisk means all files which end in the .mid extention.
  2. After the search you only need to delete them from the 'plugs' folder.

Vista
